Currently Vizag city needs 80 million gallons per day, but there is hardly 56 to 60 MGD supply. So, if this water treatment cum purifying plant with 1 Million gallons capacity is added, it can meet the ever growing demand for drinking water. This plant can also ensure adequate supply of softened water for industrial use, which is largely depended on Godavari waters. Chandrababu Naidu is planning to get some funds from the Centre for this plant, as it is willing to help the state. The municipal administration and urban development department officials are preparing detailed project report for this project. Once, the funds are granted and adequate land is arranged construction work will begin. Probably, it may take two to three months to begin works.
