Of those who hurt you, the worst are those are disguised as Friends. In my practice of psychiatry, for common man understanding I classify them into the category of Manipulators.

The most common traits of these psychological leeches are -

1. Wear the mask of friendship/family.
2. They indirectly always make you focus on the problems and troubles in your life. This ways destroying the positivity and love in your life.

3. They exaggerate the problems and troubles in your life, decreasing your confidence level.
4. They show big dreams/hopes which blind you from the current happiness in your life.
They'll use terms from morality, religion or corporate culture to divert your mind too think beyond practicality.
5. They use public appreciation and criticism as ways to control your emotions. Make you crave for their appreciation.

6. They always show their life and struggles in an exaggerated way. Always putting themselves as superior to you in either be it achieving happiness or battling sadness.
7. They will gain knowledge of your weakness and use them against you, to make you emotionally weak and emotionally dependant on them.
8. They will constantly lie about life events, and have different stories all the time.

9. They slowly gain control over your social, emotional and relationship circles, destroying all those relationships who they don't like.

Most people are able to recognize a manipulator only after much psychological damage has been done.. That day A LIFELONG ENEMY IS BORN in your mind.
A manipulator is an Enemy that should never be forgotten ... as rest assure , he/she will come back to hurt you.
